Christmas 2009

At almost 11wks along we began our drive out to Chicago to see my family for Christmas! We beat the snow storm out and arrived safely. It was great getting ready for Christmas the whole week before. I helped my mom decorate and cook while Chip did all the lifting! We arrived on Sunday afternoon and kept the news a secret until Christmas Day at breakfast! I continue to feel good energy wise as well as no morning sickness, but was having some "growing pains." It was a bit nerve racking having never felt this before so I went day to day just praying the baby was ok. Christmas morning we gave a picture and a poem to my mom and dad, Trysta and Joe, and Tammy.

We told Kevin and Sheri the next day in person and talked to Kim on the phone! They were all thrilled and proud g-parents, aunts and uncles!! It was important to us to tell my family at this trip because we saw everyone face to face.  I won't see them all together again until spring or maybe summer. They understood that I was a bit worried about the growing pains so we decided to keep the news in the family until our next appointment on January 4th.

Third prenatal appointment

On December 8, 2009 we had an appointment with my ob-gyn. I am 9wks1day along. We had a great ultrasound and the heart rate was 174. In a previous appointment the doctor referred us to a specialist to make sure the gestational sac was the appropriate size. The pictures of me in the burgundy shirt took place on Dec. 9th at 9wks2days-pretty much the next day. We had another ultrasound (I am not complaining!!) which determined the baby is developing on track. The sac looked great as well!! Two very nervous "parents to be" are overjoyed!! The heart rate went up to 176 and the baby is 24mm long. He or she even waved hello!!!

Second prenatal appointment

We had a great appointment! I am 8wks1day along and feel great!! I have been blessed with no morning sickness or cravings, but am tired most of the time. Thankfully I am not teaching full time this year and can rest when I want at home. The picture of Chip and I together is my favorite!! The baby's heart rate is 139.

Thanksgiving 2009

This year we spent Thanksgiving with the Baber family! We are 7wk4days in these pictures. The baby loved the Thanksgiving meal!! We took these pictures secretly because no one knows the news!

First prenatal appointment

On November 20, 2009 we had our first prenatal appointment. We had an ultrasound and heard the baby's heartbeat! It is only a couple mm long and the heart rate was 160!! This is our first family photo!

We're pregnant!!

We found out we are pregnant on November 5, 2009!! These are the first pictures taken as new "parents to be!"
